Artichokes and not the dip

While many people’s favorite part is the heart, it is the leaves that contain many of the artichoke’s powerful health benefits. While artichokes are typically known for their cheese artichoke dip.. artichokes have more antioxidants than any other vegetable AND are way better steamed and dipped in a light sauce.
Antioxidants neutralize free radicals. What’s a free radical you might wonder..
  • Protect against chronic disease, like cancer
  • Promote good health (duha)
  • Wards off dangerous free radicals in the body with its natural antioxidants

On top of their antioxidant qualities, these lovely chokes are high in fiber, good for the liver, aid in digestion and are good for hangovers. Could these things get any better?

Artichokes for antioxidants
What you need:
1 artichoke per person
1 pan
2 cups of water
dipping sauce of choice- vegan butter, dill cucumber dressing or avocado dressing.
Get Makin:
Place water in pan and bring to a boil. Rinse artichoke and then cut the tip of each leaf off, about 1/2 inch. Place artichokes in pan and steam for 5-10 minutes.
Place in a bowl and pull leaves off then dip in your favorite sauce!
